AIRG-2030ME hydrophobic silica aerogel granules feature a controlled 2–3 mm particle size and thermal conductivity below 0.018 W/(m·K) at 25°C for thermal insulation materials.
Hydrophobic Silica Aerogel Granules, 2–3 mm
AIRG-2030ME is a 2–3 mm hydrophobic silica aerogel granule grade developed for thermal insulation materials and composite insulation systems requiring a lightweight, low-conductivity and water-repellent granular material.
As the largest standard granule size in the AIRG-ME series, AIRG-2030ME combines the nanoporous structure of silica aerogel with hydrophobic surface characteristics and a controlled 2–3 mm particle-size range. Its defined granule format makes it suitable for systems where a relatively large and consistent granular aerogel structure is required.
With low thermal conductivity, low density and high internal porosity, AIRG-2030ME provides a functional insulation material for engineered systems requiring larger hydrophobic silica aerogel granules.
Granule size can influence material handling, packing structure and compatibility with different insulation systems. AIRG-2030ME provides a controlled 2–3 mm particle-size range for applications where larger aerogel granules are preferred over finer grades.
The AIRG-ME series provides hydrophobic silica aerogel granules in four standard particle-size ranges:
AIRG-2030ME occupies the largest standard granule-size position in the AIRG-ME series. Its 2–3 mm size distinguishes it from the finer AIRG-0105ME, AIRG-0510ME and AIRG-1020ME grades.
This structured product range provides a straightforward selection path. Smaller grades can be evaluated where a finer granular structure is required, while AIRG-2030ME is intended for systems where larger and more clearly defined aerogel granules are preferred.
A defined particle-size range supports applications requiring relatively large and consistent hydrophobic silica aerogel granules.
The nanoporous aerogel structure restricts heat transfer, allowing AIRG-2030ME to function as a lightweight thermal insulation component within engineered insulation materials.
The highly porous internal structure contributes to the low density and thermal insulation characteristics of the material.
Hydrophobic surface characteristics reduce affinity for liquid water, providing an important material property for insulation systems where moisture exposure must be considered.
AIRG-2030ME retains the low-density characteristics of silica aerogel in a millimeter-scale granular form.
Although supplied as 2–3 mm granules, AIRG-2030ME retains the nanoscale internal porous structure characteristic of silica aerogel.
