Airgeltech OmniTherm® hydrophobic silica aerogel powder series includes AIRG-9010M, AIRG-9015M, AIRG-9030M, AIRG-9050M and AIRG-9080M for coatings, composites, thermal insulation and engineered formulations.
Airgeltech OmniTherm® Silica Aerogel Powder is a series of hydrophobic silica aerogel powders developed for thermal insulation materials, coatings, composites and engineered formulations.
The OmniTherm® series combines the highly porous structure, low density and hydrophobic surface chemistry of silica aerogel with multiple powder grades designed for different particle-size and formulation requirements.
Five standard AIRG powder grades are available:
▸AIRG-9010M: Ultra Fine Grade
▸AIRG-9015M: Fine Grade
▸AIRG-9030M: General-Purpose Grade
▸AIRG-9050M: Balanced Grade
▸AIRG-9080M: High Loading Grade
The OmniTherm® series provides multiple powder grades so formulators can select a material according to particle-size requirements, dispersion behavior, aerogel loading, processing conditions and the structure of the finished material.
The nanoporous structure of silica aerogel restricts heat transfer, allowing OmniTherm® powders to be evaluated as low-conductivity functional components in compatible thermal insulation materials and formulations.
OmniTherm® powders retain the characteristic highly porous and low-density structure of silica aerogel, making the series suitable for material systems where thermal performance and weight reduction are both important considerations.
The hydrophobic surface chemistry reduces affinity for liquid water and supports the use of OmniTherm® powders in compatible formulated systems. Moisture performance of the finished material depends on the complete formulation and system design.
From AIRG-9010M Ultra Fine Grade to AIRG-9080M High Loading Grade, the series provides a structured range of powder options for different formulation and processing requirements.
| Grade | Series Position |
|---|---|
| AIRG-9010M | Ultra Fine Grade |
| AIRG-9015M | Fine Grade |
| AIRG-9030M | General-Purpose Grade |
| AIRG-9050M | Balanced Grade |
| AIRG-9080M | High Loading Grade |
The appropriate grade should be selected according to the formulation, required particle-size characteristics, aerogel loading, dispersion method, processing conditions and finished-material requirements.
Key selection factors include:
▸ Required powder grade and particle size
▸ Binder or matrix compatibility
▸ Aerogel loading level
▸ Dispersion requirements
▸ Mixing and processing conditions
▸ Finished-material density
▸ Target thermal performance
▸ Final product structure
OmniTherm® silica aerogel powders can be evaluated for incorporation into compatible thermal insulation coatings, composite materials and other engineered formulation systems.
Finished-material performance depends on the complete formulation rather than the aerogel powder alone. Aerogel grade, loading level, dispersion, matrix composition, material density, processing conditions and overall system structure should therefore be evaluated together during product development.
Application-specific testing under representative formulation, processing and service conditions is recommended before commercial use.
Application results should be verified under the customer's actual formulation, processing and service conditions.
