AGT-CFF1260 Ceramic Fiber Felt

Key Features

  • ▸High-Density Sheet Construction: The denser ceramic fiber structure is suitable for insulation assemblies where compact sheet material is preferred over lower-density flexible roll insulation.

  • ▸Easy to Cut and Fit: The sheet format allows AGT-CFF1260 to be cut and fitted according to furnace, kiln and equipment geometry, simplifying integration into defined insulation areas.

  • ▸Multiple Thickness and Density Options: Different configurations are available to support varying insulation-build requirements, installation spaces and system designs.

  • ▸Designed for High-Temperature Insulation: AGT-CFF1260 is developed for integration into furnace lining, backup insulation, kiln insulation and other high-temperature thermal equipment systems.

Ceramic Fiber Felt vs. Ceramic Fiber Blanket

Ceramic fiber felt and ceramic fiber blanket are both used in high-temperature insulation systems, but they serve different installation requirements. Ceramic fiber felt is a higher-density sheet material designed for cut-to-fit applications, while ceramic fiber blanket is a lower-density flexible material typically supplied in rolls.

Choose Ceramic Fiber Felt When:

  • A higher-density sheet material is required.

  • Defined sheet dimensions simplify installation.

  • Insulation components need to be cut to specific shapes or dimensions.

  • Furnace or equipment geometry is suitable for sheet installation.

Consider Ceramic Fiber Blanket When:

  • Flexible insulation is required.

  • Large surfaces require continuous insulation coverage.

  • Curved or irregular equipment needs to be wrapped.

  • A lower-density flexible insulation layer is preferred.

Selection & Installation

Selection Considerations

Ceramic fiber insulation should be selected according to the complete operating environment rather than classification temperature alone. Important selection factors include:

  • Continuous operating temperature

  • Maximum short-term temperature

  • Required insulation thickness

  • Density requirement

  • Furnace or equipment geometry

  • Hot-face construction

  • Mechanical conditions

  • Installation method

  • Overall insulation-system design

Note: The 1260°C classification temperature should not automatically be used as the continuous operating temperature. For project selection, provide Airgeltech with the operating conditions and insulation-system requirements so that the appropriate ceramic fiber grade and configuration can be evaluated.

Installation & Handling

AGT-CFF1260 Ceramic Fiber Felt can be cut and fitted according to the dimensions of the furnace, kiln or high-temperature equipment. Installation methods should be determined according to the lining structure, operating temperature, substrate condition, mechanical requirements, insulation thickness and fixing method.

The overall thermal performance of an installation should be evaluated at the complete insulation-system level, rather than based on the ceramic fiber felt alone.

Before handling or installation, refer to the applicable Airgeltech Safety Data Sheet. Follow local occupational health requirements and appropriate dust-control and personal protective measures when cutting or installing ceramic fiber products.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 1260°C the continuous service temperature?+

No. 1260°C is the classification temperature, not the recommended continuous service temperature for every application. Actual service limits depend on operating conditions, exposure duration, atmosphere and the complete insulation-system design.

What thickness and density options are available?+

AGT-CFF1260 is available in standard thicknesses of: 20 mm, 50 mm. Nominal density options are: 200 kg/m³, 220 kg/m³.

The appropriate configuration should be selected according to the insulation-system requirements and installation conditions.

What is the difference between ceramic fiber felt and ceramic fiber blanket?+

Ceramic fiber felt is a higher-density sheet material, while ceramic fiber blanket is a lower-density flexible roll material. Ceramic fiber felt is better suited to defined sheet components and cut-to-fit applications. Ceramic fiber blanket is generally more suitable for covering large areas, building insulation layers and wrapping curved or irregular equipment.

Can ceramic fiber felt be cut to size?+

Yes. The sheet material can be cut and fitted according to equipment dimensions and insulation-layout requirements. For project-specific dimensions or fabrication requirements, provide Airgeltech with the required size, quantity and intended application for evaluation.

Can I request a sample or technical data?+

Yes. For sample or technical evaluation, please provide:

  • Operating temperature

  • Maximum temperature

  • Required thickness

  • Preferred density

  • Application

  • Estimated quantity

  • Destination country

Airgeltech can then confirm the appropriate product configuration and available technical documentation.
